The awe-inspiring timelapse of the Gold Coast

They say a picture paints a thousand words, but to capture the essence of the Gold Coast, you need a lot more than that!

Between a long coastline of world-class beaches and 100,000 hectares of enchanting National Parks and reserves, the Gold Coast is bursting at the seams with stunning scenery and an unrivalled lifestyle.

There are 56 kilometres of coastline to swim, stroll or surf; tropical rainforests to marvel over; and energetic precincts to immerse yourself in for some serious fun.

In order to capture the vibrancy and atmosphere of this beautiful city, LA-based cinematographer Joe Capra spent over 14 days taking over 120,000 photos to create this timelapse video.

The timelapse provides a glimpse at so many elements of the region, from the sun rising over the beach and setting over the hinterland, to the city lit up at night; views from the tallest building and views from sea level; and the waves rolling into the shore, to the waterfalls nestled away in the hinterland. It’s all enough to take your breath away.

You also get a taste of the lifestyle of market goers, beach goers and those spending a lazy Sunday in the sunshine by Tallebudgera Creek, not to mention the paddle boarders, surfers and the odd kayaker or two.

This video was only 4 minutes… so just imagine experiencing all the Gold Coast has to offer in an entire holiday!

If your heart is now yearning for the Gold Coast, scope out the precinct pages to find out exactly where each shot was captured to come and explore for yourself.
