Gold Coast's medical sector enjoys health growth.

Health and medical services have emerged as the city’s sixth largest industry employing more than 10,000 and contributing $500 million to the economy.

One of Gold Coast’s fastest growing industries, there are more than 700 medical practitioners and specialists with six hospitals and specialist clinics.

Health education and research is ground-breaking.

  • Griffith University’s Institute for Glycomics pursues research in areas such as cancer research, anti-microbial and anti-viral research. The University’s School of Medicine welcomed its first student intake in 2005. www.griffith.edu.au
